Washington Union Station Information
Located on the east edge of downtown Washington, the station is located on Massachusetts Avenue on a block that is bordered by N. Capitol St., H St. NE., 2nd St. NE, and Massachusetts Ave . It is a couple blocks north of the US Capitol. The main entrances are on Massachusetts Ave.
Washington has the second busiest Amtrak station (only New York Penn Station is busier) handling over 4.4 million passengers a year. The station has 22 tracks handling Amtrak and local commuter trains. Amtrak lines departing from Washington:
- Northeast Corridor Service including Acela Express and Regional trains north to New York, Boston and Springfield, MA and south to Virginia Beach, VA
- Capitol Limited to Chicago via Pittsburgh
Cardinal west to Chicago via Cincinnati and north to New York
Carolinian south to Charlotte and north to New York
Crescent south to New Orleans and north to New York
Palmetto south to Savannah and north to New York
Silver Meteor south to
Miami via Charleston and north to New York
Silver Star south to
Miami via Raleigh, Columbia and
Tampa and north to New York
Vermonter north to St. Albans, VT
The station is open 24 hours a day every day and the Quik-Trak machines are always available. The ticket windows are open from 4:30 am to 10:00 pm on weekdays and 5:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekends. Checked baggage service is available from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm daily. A Club Acela is available in the gate area for first class and sleeping car passengers.

Please complete the "Train Status" box and click on "Next" to get the estimated and scheduled arrival times. You can also check historical on-time performance on the same page.
